About Martha Dominguez
Martha Dominguez
To be able to express myself I need a special kind of freedom and I find this freedom in the creative process every time a new piece is developed, every time a new mark is left behind. I communicate my thoughts, bringing them to life by utilizing different media. Through my artistic career I have experimented with drawing, etching, painting, photography, ceramic and mixed media. Color has always played a very important role. I use color primarily as a way to invite the viewer to come closer, discovering then; lines, grids, shapes and textures that reveal the simplicity of an abstract expression. This art expression is presented to the viewer in search of a response. In every case what really matters to me is the inevitable connection between the art and the spectator. To some it will be easy to understand, to some it will be challenging, but to all it will become a memory to collect.
